T20 Pro:Am a smashing success

The Kerry London Kings were one of four teams to battle it outÔš at Northamptonshire County Cricket Club at T20 Pro:Am Finals Day.

Back in July we announced that we were one of businesses sponsoring the Greene King T20 Pro:Am cricket event.

The T20 Pro:Am is an exciting new event in the world of cricket that brings together professional cricketers, amateurs and legends of the sport. The main sponsor is Greene IPA, along with Travis Perkins, RBC and ourselves.

Our team – the Kerry London Kings – were one of four teams competing in the event, all of whom faced one another on Finals Day, 20th August at Northamptonshire County Cricket Club.

The finals day was last Sunday and we’re happy to report that it was a fantastic day and a huge success for everyone involved. Not to mention for the fans!

With the help of team manager and retired English first-class cricketer Jason Ratcliffe, the legendary Monty Panesar, and the spectacular Rory Kleinveldt, The Kerry London Kings stormed forward on their training days.

The team was coached by cricket coach extraordinaire Andy Hill, founder of the AJH Cricket Academy based in Northamptonshire.

The Kerry London Kings’ team manager, retired English first-class cricketer Jason Ratcliffe commended the event for “Giving amateur cricketers the chance to play with legends and experience all that goes with being a modern day professional”.

The team was more than ready to take on the Travis Perkins Trailblazers, the RBC Lions and the Greene IPA Heroes.

T20 Pro:Am a smashing successBefore the games were played on Finals Day, the spectators were treated to a mascot race. We’re happy to report that the Kerry London Kings mascot managed to outrun the competition and win the race.

While we may not have come out on top in the matches Finals Day, all the teams involved played fantastically. Congratulations to the Travis Perkins Trailblazers, who won the day with a well-deserved victory.
